SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Yonhap) --CJ Olive Young said Tuesday it will launch a large-scale collaboration campaign with globally popular intellectual property Sanrio Characters for the second consecutive year.
The monthlong campaign, running from Aug. 30 to Sept. 30, is themed "OLIVE YOUNG City Log." For the campaign, Olive Young developed visual assets depicting Sanrio characters enjoying Korean cities and lifestyles.
Through content infused with a "K-local" sensibility, the company aims to offer domestic and international consumers a fresh and engaging shopping experience.
Olive Young will first unveil Sanrio Characters designs incorporating a range of trending elements tailored to the tastes of its core 15-29-year-old consumer group. These include school uniforms, recently popular pixel graphic art and street fashion featuring leopard prints.
Taking note of the strong interest among foreign tourists visiting Korea in experiencing traditional hanbok, Olive Young has also created a "Hanbok Hello Kitty" design. The character design incorporates traditional Korean colors and distinctive features of hanbok.
The company will also unveil region-specific assets inspired by 12 areas across Korea: Gangneung, Gongju, Gimcheon, Daegwallyeong, Daejeon, Boseong, Busan, Seoul, Suwon, Yeonggwang, Udo and Jeonju. Local specialties such as Jeonju bibimbap, Gongju chestnuts and Udo peanuts have been incorporated into the character designs.
