A school of dace swim upstream in Namdae Stream in Gangneung, a coastal town in Gangwon Province, northeastern South Korea, on June 12, 2023. The river fish, called "hwangeo" in Korean, live most of their lives in the sea after being born in a river and return to the river to lay eggs in spring. (Yonhap)
