SEOUL, Oct. 28 (Yonhap) -- A foundation led by former U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Wednesday it will host a high-level dialogue in Seoul this week to discuss clean energy transitions and regional climate cooperation.
The forum will take place Thursday on the sidelines of Global Green Growth Week 2026, where experts and officials at home and abroad will discuss ways to advance energy security and clean transitions in Northeast Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), according to the foundation.
Topics will also include developing low-carbon supply chains and transforming industrial structures, promoting climate technology cooperation to bridge artificial intelligence (AI) and digital divides and mobilizing climate finance through global carbon markets.
Ban will deliver opening remarks emphasizing regional cooperation in Northeast Asia and the international community's role amid geopolitical uncertainties.
Participants will include Oh Il-young, a senior official at the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment; Ananya Basu, a deputy director general at the Asian Development Bank; and senior officials working on climate strategies from China, Japan and Indonesia, among other nations, the foundation said.
