SEOUL, Oct. 13 (Yonhap) -- Global luxury beauty brand Sulwhasoo lured visitors at the "Hanbok Banquet at Gyeongbok Palace," set up as a part of the 2026 fall Royal Culture Festival, held last weekend.
The "Hanbok Banquet at Gyeongbok Palace," held on Saturday and Sunday, is a nighttime cultural program that allows visitors to wear hanbok, enjoy the beautiful night scenery of Gyeongbok Palace and experience various aspects of traditional Korean culture. A total of 3,600 people took part in the event, with 1,800 participants per session. About 800 foreign visitors also attended, highlighting strong interest in Korean traditional culture.
Sulwhasoo set up a brand booth near Gyeonghoeru Pavilion at Gyeongbok Palace, offering participants a special experience. Visitors received amber-colored lanterns symbolizing the brand and an 8-milliliter bottle of Sulwhasoo's signature First Care Activating Serum. Participants carried the lanterns as they walked around the palace, deepening their experience of the atmosphere of traditional Korean culture.
The softly glowing amber lanterns blended with the palace's nighttime scenery, creating a distinctive attraction that drew positive responses from visitors from Korea and abroad. Through the booth, Sulwhasoo sought to convey not only an experience of its products but also the unique aesthetics and sensibilities of Korea, adding meaning to the event.
"The 'Hanbok Banquet at Gyeongbok Palace' was a meaningful occasion where visitors from Korea and abroad could experience the beauty of traditional Korean culture firsthand," a Sulwhasoo brand official said. "We will continue to support various cultural activities that carry on the value of traditional culture in a modern way and share it with more people, based on our deep respect for Korean culture."
Meanwhile, Sulwhasoo has long carried out various activities to preserve and promote the value of Korean culture. Through "Sulwha Project," a cultural program involving university students, the brand supports creative activities by younger generations. It also contributes to the preservation and promotion of Korean cultural heritage by supporting the restoration and reproduction of "banhwa," a Joseon royal craft, and operating "Salon Sulwhasoo," a cultural arts program that connects tradition and modernity.
