SEOUL, Sept. 11 (Yonhap) -- KB Financial Group Inc., a major South Korean banking group, said Friday it has selected a veteran financier as the candidate for the group's next chief.
The financial holding firm's nomination committee picked Lee Jae-keun, head of the group's global business division, as the candidate for the group's next chairman, whose nomination will be officially approved at a shareholders meeting in November.
Lee, 60, has been serving as the chief for the group's financial business with extensive experience for KB Financial to expand its portfolio into non-banking areas, including insurance and brokerage.
The committee said it picked Lee to "strengthen the group's core competitiveness and secure future growth momentum."
