BEIJING, Dec. 8 (Yonhap) -- It seems that Korean idol group EXO's participation in China's biggest music awards has been canceled.

EXO members Kai and Sehun disappeared from the official account of this year's 3rd Tencent Music Entertainment Awards (TMEA) Weibo on the 8th.

In addition, the poster of EXO has disappeared, and EXO is missing from the list of attendees.

Initially, the awards released an EXO poster on Weibo and announced that Kai and Sehun will participate in the event online through VCR on the 11th.

The TMEA has not made an official statement on the matter.

Chinese netizens are protesting, saying that the absence of EXO from the attendee list is highly likely to mean that their attendance has been cancelled.

One netizen asked, "I've already bought a ticket, what should I do?" and another netizen asked back, "Is this really because of the Korean Wave restriction?"

Tencent Music Entertainment Group is the largest music company in China, and TMEA is the largest music awards held at the end of the year in China.
