SEOUL, Dec. 27 (Yonhap) -- Boy group Pentagon member Hong Seok (Yang Hong-seok) has been discharged from the military service seven months after joining the army, his agency Cube Entertainment announced on Monday.
The agency explained, "Hong-seok had been receiving continuous treatment and counseling while serving in the military due to his panic disorder and depression accompanied by agoraphobia, but military has made a judgement it would be impossible to simultaneously serve and receive treatment; so he has been discharged."
After debuting as Pentagon's lead vocalist in 2016, the singer was loved for songs such as "Shine" and "Naughty Boy."
He was the third Pentagon member to join the army this May. Earlier, Jin-ho (Jo Jin-ho) joined the Army in 2020 and was discharged last November, and Hui (Lee Hoi-taek) was discharged this November after finishing his service as a social service agent.
