SEOUL January 31 (Yonhap) -- Global blockbuster film “Avatar: The Way of Water” shortened as “Avatar 2” with is known for being the first movie to exceeded over 10 million audiences in 2023, has successfully placed on third within the charts for the movies which made the greatest sales within movies which premiered in South Korea.
According to the distributor of the movie Walt Disney Company Korea on Tuesday, “Avatar 2” has exceeded the income of 131.6 billion won on its 47th day of screening. With the record, “Avatar 2” has landed safely on third amongst movies which premiered in South Korea when sorted based on the amount of sales it made.
The record created by “Avatar 2” not only exceeded the standard created by “The Roundup” and topped the charts amongst the movies premiered within 2023.
“Avatar 2” which successfully exceed the record created by the previous movie “Avatar” in four days after catching up to the movies sales record which wrote the history among foreign movies with significant sales.
Currently the movie “Avatar 2” is continuing on with its success throughout all over the world constantly cumulating its total sales amount.
According to the American webpage “Box Office Mojo” “Avatar 2” has cumulated over 2.6 trillion won throughout the world. This record is placed on the fourth amongst all of the movies premiered globally.
“Avatar: The Way of Water” which premiered on December 14 is about the journey and the battle family of Jake Sully, acted by actor Sam Worthington, and Neytiri acted by Zoe Saldana embarks on in order to survive.
