Seoul November 10 (Yonhap) -- Marvel Hero movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” topped south Korean box office on the day of its premiere.
According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Thursday, sequel of the original movie “Black Panther,” attracted over 183 thousand audiences on the first day of its premiere topping the S.Korean box office.
Current reservation rate of the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is 70.4 percent and over 206 thousand audiences have bought the tickets for the movie.
Block buster movie “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” withholds a storyline of Wakanda which suffers the loss of their leader T’Challa’s death struggles with foreign nation’s trying to invade Wakanda and the new threat emerges from the hidden undersea nation Talocan.
Although the actor Chadwick Boseman who acted out the protagonist T’challa will not be appearing in the movie, due to his unfortunate death due to cancer in 2020, the movie showcased the birth of the new hero.
South Korean movie “Confession” which withheld its place on top of S.Korean box office for two consecutive weeks, stepped down to second. “Confession” attracted total of 587 thousand audiences.
Action drama “Remember” featuring Lee sung-min was ranked third and “Everything” which is a Hollywood debut piece of actor Michelle Yeoh placed fourth on the box office.
