SEOUL March 7 (Yonhap) -- “From now on I will do my best to participate in a lot of various Korean productions,” K-pop girl group IZ*One’s member Yabuki Nako who will be appearing as a host of “The Idol Band : Boy’s Battle” which is a collaborative survival program between Japan and South Korea addressed through her interview on Tuesday.
Yabuki Nako stated “The upcoming production will be taking place in South Korea so I will be able to see my Korean fans for the first time in a while.”
Japanese member of IZ*One, Yabuki Nako debuted as a member of Japanese girl group, HKT48 and became a member of IZ*One in 2018 after participating in “Produce 48” up until 2021. Later on she made a comeback as a main member of HKT48 and soon she will be leaving the group which she has been part of for the past 10 years.
For over 2 years worth of working experience in South Korea, artist addressed “It provided me with the motivation,” adding “By living in a same space with other members I have learned the importance of working together and cooperating.”
Moreover, artist addressed “I can now talk in Korean. Because I have worked in South Korea in the past I was able to land a role in the upcoming program ‘The Idol Band : Boy’s Battle’” adding “Since I participated in various activities, concerts and performances those details have led me to become who I am now.”
“In order to make sure I get every little detailed parts right, until now as a member of HKT48, I would record the practice, frame by frame, and check where I can improve.” addressed Yabuki Nako.
It will be an interesting experience for the artist to participate in a audition program of band music given the fact that she was a member of a girl group and she will be leading the program in Korean.
“By participating in such production I am awarded with the opportunity to experience something that I have never been introduced with.” adding “At first everything was very foreign, however Rowoon of SF9 who will be hosting the program alongside me addressed that it will be his first time participating in the production as the host, therefore, I feel like we can help each other out throughout the production.” addressed Yabuki Nako.
Continuing on artist addressed “I have been listening to band music for a while however, my interest has increase as I was selected to participate in the production of the upcoming program,” adding “I would love to visit music festival or live concerts as well.”
Yabuki Nako is currently preparing to change her path of occupation from being an idol which she has been for the past 10 years, as an actress. Ever since she was young she started to dreamt of becoming an actress, and throughout her days as a member of IZ*One she was motivated while watching Japanese production.
Yabuki Nako addressed “After returning back to Japan, I participated in a production called ‘Kao Dake Sensei’ and as a result I grew my dream to participate in various production.”
“I guess I was really just looking for the right timing, I thought of whether I have missed something or left out anything that I can do as an idol, after series of consideration with staff members we have came to an agreement that the right time for me to graduate would be in 2023.” adding “I would like to participate in a role where I can break free from my previous image of being an idol, when I heard some of the stories from Rowoon, I really wanted to participate in a production of South Korean production.” addressed Yabuki Nako.
As for artist’s favorite South Korean series, she picked “Business Proposal,” and “It’s Okay to Not be Okay.” According to Yabuki Nako, she likes “It’s Okay to Not be Okay” because of the message that the series portrays and the ending.
“’Business Proposal’ features actress Kim Se-jeong, and the last OST track feature within the last episode of the drama by the actress was mesmerizing, I would love for an additional season.” addressed Yabuki Nako through her interview.
