SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) -- The 'Dream Concert World in Japan,' originally scheduled to be held on August 10-11 at the Belluna Dome in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, has been postponed due to the local heatwave.
In a phone call with Yonhap News on the 30th, an official from the Dream Concert organizing committee stated, "We decided to postpone the concert as the situation is not suitable for gathering a large audience, given that the Japanese government has issued nationwide heatstroke warnings." The official added, "We are currently discussing the rescheduled dates with the Japanese production company."
According to Kyodo News and NHK, temperatures in some areas reached 41 degrees Celsius on the 29th, with extreme heat observed across the Japanese archipelago. The Japan Meteorological Agency and the Ministry of the Environment have issued heatstroke warnings in 38 prefectures, including Saitama Prefecture.
'Dream Concert World in Japan' is a K-pop concert co-hosted by Forest Media, the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, and Kyunghyang Shinmun. The previously announced lineup includes popular K-pop artists such as NewJeans, DAY6, Kiss of Life, and TO1.
