SEOUL, May 16 (Yonhap) -- A legal dispute has erupted between BE'O's former and current agencies over unpaid fees, music industry sources said on the 15th.
The case became public when SanE, the CEO of BE'O's former agency, FameUs Entertainment, disclosed it through social media.
BE'O's current agency, Big Planet Made Entertainment, filed a lawsuit against FameUs Entertainment, demanding the payment of unpaid fees that BE'O allegedly did not receive while under FameUs.
Big Planet Made Entertainment claimed that FameUs deducted expenses from the revenue and distributed profits after splitting the total sales in a fixed ratio, subtracting all expenses from BE'O's share.
SanE took to his own social media to launch a sharp attack against BE'O and Big Planet Made Entertainment regarding the issue of unpaid fees.
He criticized BE'O, stating, "After three years of investment and success following the renewal of the contract, they demanded contract termination, failed to fulfill schedules, and denied contacting other management agencies."
Big Planet Made Entertainment retaliated, stating, "SanE received a lump sum of 2.09 billion won from Big Planet Made, led by MC Mong, as compensation for transferring copyright-related rights related to BE'O upon termination of the exclusive contract," and accused him of continuously delaying the fulfillment of obligations regarding profit distribution under the exclusive contract with BE'O.
The first trial for this case is scheduled to be held on the 13th of next month at the Seoul Central District Court.
