SEOUL, November 4 (Yonhap)-- The crime thriller movie "Confession," starring So Ji-sub and Kim Yun-jin as the main characters, is currently the front-runner at the box office.
According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Friday, the movie "Confession" has been topping the box office for eight consecutive days, starting on October 27. The movie attracted 363,000 audience during nine days.
It is expected for "Confession" to be the first runner unless new movies are released until the release of "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" (Black Panther 2) on November 9.
As of 8:30 a.m. on Friday, "Black Panther 2" recorded a 39.5% (62,000 tickets) reservation rate, whereas "Confession" and "Remember" recorded 13.2% (20,000 tickets) and 7.5% (11,000 tickets) reservation rates, respectively.
Action movie "Remember," starring actor Lee Sung-min as the main character, which was released on the same day with "Confession," topped the box office on the first day of release, but dropped to the second place as "Confession" topped the chart, and remained in the second place. The movie "Remember" attracted a total of 297,000 audiences.
The movies "Highway Family," starring Jung Il-woo and Ra Mi-ran, the domestic thriller "Next Door," director Hong Sang-soo's new film "Top," and the action movie "Black Site," starring Michelle Monaghan, will also be released soon.
