SEOUL, December 26 (Yonhap) -- New movies and movies that were in storage due to COVID-19 will be released in 2023, the year of the rabbit, just like this year.
Different genres of Korean movies, including large-scale works where the audience is looking forward to seeing the ensemble of star directors and actors, will be on the big screen.
In addition, Hollywood masterpieces based on series films will be shown in theaters.It means that movie fans will have more options on a fancy menu.
Following is the summary of the new lineup that will decorate the cinema in 2023.
◇New series of box office hits fills the screen
"The Roundup: No Way Out," the sequel to the movie "The Round Up" a "bare fist action" which is the first movie to hit ten million viewers after the pandemic, will be released on the big screen next year.
This time, detectives of Geumcheon Police office including Ma Seok-do (Ma Dong-seok) will look for Japanese Yakuzas. Lee Jun-hyuk (Joo Seong-cheol), and Japanese actor Munetaka Aoki (Riki Yakuza) will take over the villain characters of Yoon Kye-sang and Son Seok-goo.

"Dream," starring Park Seo-joon and Lee Ji-eun, depicts the "Homeless World Cup" challenge of soccer players and soccer laymen in the biggest crisis of their careers, while "Vacation," starring Shin Mina and Kim Hae-sook, depicts the story of a deceased mother coming to this world to meet her daughter.
Crime thrillers include director Jung Ji-young's new film "The Boys," "Sad Tropics" directed by Park Hoon-jung who worked on the "Witch" series, and "The Devil's Deal" produced by director Lee Won-tae, who produced "The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil" (2019).
Movie "The Boys" starring Sol Kyung-gu, Yu Jun-sang as main characters depicts the true story of Samrye Nara Mart incident. It is the story of a detective who had to re-investigate the boys who were chosen as the suspects of a robbery incident.
