SEOUL, December 20 (Yonhap) -- On Tuesday, the film "Avatar: The Way of Water," the sequel to "Avatar," surpassed 3 million cumulative audience members in seven days.
 
The film distributor Walt Disney Company announced that the cumulative number of audiences for "Avatar 2" reached 3,073,000 as of 7 a.m. on the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council. 
 
The movie has been topping the box office since its premiere on December 14. 
 
It is attracting an audience at a faster rate of speed compared to the first Avatar, which reached three million viewers in nine days. However, "Avatar 2" is being screened in 2,700 cinemas, which is four times more than the first movie, which was screened in 600–700.
