Living legend of S.Korean music industry Cho Yong-pil to host solo concert in Main Stadium of Olympic Park Seoul

SEOUL March 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korean legendary artist Cho Yong-pil will be hosting his solo concert “2023 Cho Yong-pil and the Greatest Birth” addressed concert planning agency Insight Entertainment on Tuesday.

Cho Yong-pil will be hosting his solo concert in the Main Stadium of Seoul Olympic in five years since he last performed a concert celebrating his 50th anniversary of debut in 2018.

The main stadium which opened in 1984 successfully hosted Seoul Asian Game on 1986 and Seoul Olympics in 1988. In total, over 50 thousand people can fit in to the stadium therefore it is considered to be an ultimate goal for artists to perform in the Seoul Olympic Main Stadium.

Living Legend Cho Young-pil was recorded as the first artist to host his concert celebrating 35th anniversary of his debut in 2003. Later on, artist has managed to host seven more concerts at the location within past 20 years successfully selling out all of his tickets.

Since the stadium is going through remodeling process, starting on June of 2023, Cho Yong-pil will be the last artist to perform a solo concert in the original stadium.

Agency Insight addressed “The upcoming concert which will be served as a farewell for the original set up of main stadium in Olympic Park in Jamsil Seoul, will serve as an event to enjoy Cho Yong-pil’s legendary tracks while looking back at the history of the significance of the stadium.”

Artist Cho Yong-pil who released two of his latest tracks “Moment,” and “Like Serengeti,” in 2022 managed to sell out over 40 thousand tickets for his solo concert by hosting one in 4 years.
