LOS ANGELES, Jan. 25(Yonhap) – “Chipotle,” a famous fast-casual chain of Mexican restaurants in the United States, changed the name of its Twitter account in response to K-pop superband BTS.
Chipotle changed its Twitter account name to "Chicotle" on Jan. 24(U.S. Time) and posted a message to greet BTS members.
This is because it became known that BTS member Jung-kook mispronounced Chipotle as Chicotle.

Earlier on BTS’ official YouTube channel, a video was uploaded, showing members trying Chipotle that was ordered for them.
The video showed BTS eating lunch after shooting CBS' popular talk show “James Corden’s Crosswalk Concert” when they visited the U.S. in November, 2021.
Jung-kook, who appears to be trying Chipotle for the first time, said in a video, "How can I eat this, Chicotle?,” and the video went viral among fans.
Then Chipotle changed the name of its Twitter account name as Jung-kook pronounced it, posting a tweet “It’s chicotle from now on.”
It also retweeted a post from a fan that said, "IF JUNGKOOK SAID ITS CHICOTLE THEN ITS CHICOTLE.”
This is not the first time of BTS marketing by American food companies.
McDonald's, a global fast food chain, collaborated with BTS in February, 2021, to launch BTS set menus in more than 50 countries.
Thanks to BTS, McDonald's reported an "earnings surprise" in the second quarter of last year, with global sales increasing 40.5% over the previous year.
