SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea’s three major terrestrial broadcasters—KBS, MBC, and SBS—will cancel their regular programming and shift to special news coverage on Thursday, the day of the Constitutional Court’s ruling on President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment trial.

According to the broadcasting industry on Wednesday, KBS, MBC, and SBS will implement an all-day news format starting in the morning.

KBS 1TV will begin its coverage at 6 a.m., providing updates on the courtroom atmosphere leading up to the ruling. Except for the 8 a.m. talk show Morning Yard, all other regular programs have been canceled to make way for special broadcasts. KBS has scheduled News Special from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., along with special editions of Sasakangeun, a current affairs program, and the documentary 123 Days: From Martial Law to Constitutional Court Ruling.

MBC will air news programming from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., while SBS has canceled programs such as Curious Story Y and Live Today to broadcast continuous news coverage from 7:40 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Several entertainment programs have also been rescheduled due to the impeachment ruling coverage.

KBS 1TV’s new daily drama Seize Great Fortune was originally set to hold its press conference and premiere on April 7, but both have been pushed back to April 14. This delay comes as the ongoing drama Let’s Get Married, Mangkkong! has extended its airing schedule due to the special news broadcast.
