BTS's Jungkook picks 'Standing Next to You' as lead track for new solo album
Jungkook’s
new album will include a total of 11 songs, and will be released Nov. 16,
according to the social media of the singer’s management, BigHit Music.
The
album will enlist Standing Next to You, as well as previously released tracks
like 'Seven' and '3D,' along with 'Close to You,' 'Yes or No,' 'Please Don't
Change,' 'Hate You,' and other pieces.
Standing
Next to You is a retro-funk song that highlights Jungkook's rhythmic vocals.
The same producers, Andrew Watt and Cirkut, who worked on Jungkook's debut solo
track Seven, which became a global hit this summer, took charge of production
once again.
The
album’s production was participated by British singer Ed Sheeran, Canadian
songwriter Shawn Mendes, and the electronic hip-hop group Major Lazer, as well
as Bloodpop, David Stewart and Blake Slatkin.
French
producer and rapper DJ Snake also collaborated with Jungkook on a featured
track.
Big
Hit Music introduced, "Jungkook's new album 'Golden' takes inspiration
from his 'golden moments,' and he personally handpicked all the songs included
in the album. He sang all 11 songs in English."
Jungkook
is slated to hold a fan showcase on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. at Jangchung Gymnasium in
Seoul.
