SEOUL, Mar. 17 (Yonhap) -- Doosan Art Center has named screenwriter Bae Hae-ryul and director Shin Jin-ho as the brand-new DAC Artists in 2023, the Center announced Thursday.

Bae is a South Korean screenwriter who consistently spoke about good intentions toward others. He also won the 11th Byeoksan Culture Award for his work “The Temple of April.”

Shin is a South Korean filmmaker who has been paying keen attention to controversial issues regarding the social system and society. He is known for previously delivering theater plays “Boy Boulevard,” “Carthage,” and “Rider-on-the-Radar.”

The Center names artists under the age of 40 in the performing arts field to stably engage in creative activities as the DAC Artists. The Center accepts entries and selects two among the applied artists.

The appointed artists are scheduled to showcase their brand-new works by joining hands with Doosan Art Center and will be receiving up to 150 million won as production costs.
