SEOUL, December 25 (Yonhap) -- Online streaming platforms will decorate the year end with new shows staring well known actors,

Disney + released episodes 1~3 of "Big Bet" produced by director Kang Yoon-sung, starring Choi Min-sik, Son Seok-goo, Lee Dong-hwi, and Heo Seong-tae on December 21. The first season of the show will consist of eight episodes.

It tells an epic tale of Cha Moo-sik (played by Choi), who rose to the top and became the legendary king of the casino in the Philippines but confronts unfortunate events and bets with his life on the line to get back in the game.

"Big Bet" gained attention just by the fact of the return of Choi Min-sik to the small screen after 25 years.

Netflix will release a revenge drama "The Glory" starring Song Hye-kyo on December 30.

"The Glory" tells the story of Moon Dong-eun, a victim of school violence, planning revenge on both the perpetrator and the bystander.

The show gave been gaining attention as it is a new work by Kim Eun-sook, who wrote the scripts of "Secret Garden," "Goblin," and "Mr. Sunshine."

Tving will also face Netflix by releasing a new drama "Island," starring Kim Nam-gil, Lee Da-hee, Cha Eun-woo and Sung-joon on December 30.

"Island" depicts the journey of characters fighting against evil to destroy the world against in the setting of Jeju Island. It is based on a webtoon of the same name, which was very popular as a Korean horror fantasy.
