CGV to kick off 'Korean Cinema Redux' featuring movies from 2003

SEOUL November 29 (Yonhap) -- "Korean Cinema Redux" which is a screening event of eight of the movies from 2003 that has been loved throughout the years will kick off on December 2 at CGV located in Yongsan district Seoul, addressed CGV on Tuesday.

“Korean Cinema Redux” which is a collaborative event of Korean Film Archive and the committee of Wild Flower Film Awards will look back into the movies from the so called renaissance period of South Korean movie and to cheer up the movie industry for better year.

Starting with director Park Chan-wook’s “Old Boy,” director Kim Jee woon’s “A Tale of Two Sisters,” director Jan Joon-hwan’s “Save the Green Planet!” director Hong Ki-seon’s “Marry Him if You Dare,” director Bong Joon-ho’s “Memories of Murder,” director Bong Man-dae’s “The Sweet Sex and Love,” director Lim Sang-soo’s “A Good Lawyer’s Wife” and more in total of eight movies will be screened throughout the event. Two of the movies will be screened ever day.

Guest Visit will happen shortly after the screening of movies “A Tale of Two Sisters.” “Marry Him if You Dare,” “The Sweet Sex and Love,” and “The Uninvited” directors Bong Man-dae and Lee Soo-yeon will attend the event.

Representative of the Wild Flower Film Award committee Oh Dong-jin addressed “We have decided to host the event in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of year 2003 where such great improvements within movie industry and to cheer for the coming year.”
