S. Korean hero movie ‘The Witch 2’ to hit North American theaters this month

SEOUL, June 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's superhero movie "The Witch: The Other One" will hit the North American theaters this month, according to the American film magazine, Hollywood Reporter, Wednesday.

The American distributor Well Go USA has secured the theatrical and digital rights of "Witch 2" for North America, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, and will release the movie in the North American theaters on June 17, according to the magazine.

Hollywood Reporter said, "Well Go is again ramping up its North American releases of popular Asia genre titles and festival fare after a pause during much of the coronavirus pandemic."

Director Park Hoon-jung's new film "Witch 2" is a sequel to "The Witch," a Korean superhero series.

"Witch 2" will depict the story of a girl (Shin Sia), who survived alone in a secret laboratory and came out of the world, and forces chasing her for different purposes.
