SEOUL, Jan. 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's star singer Na Hoon-a delivered a sharp critique of the political turmoil involving martial law declarations and impeachment proceedings during his farewell concert.

During his first performance of the "2024 Thank You – Last Concert" series at Seoul's Olympic Park KSPO Dome, held on Saturday, the veteran singer on Saturday pointed to his left arm and remarked, "But you think you've done well?"

He raised both arms and added, "The left side is blaming the right side, creating an uproar."

Recalling his mother's advice, Na stated, "My mother always told me that siblings must not fight, no matter the reason. I want to ask if what they’re doing is really for the sake of the country."

Na Hoon-a is known for openly sharing his thoughts on sensitive topics such as politics, low birth rates, and inter-Korean relations during his performances.

He further commented, "South Korea has become a country where it wouldn't be surprising if bombs fell on us right now. Soldiers are being detained on TV, and some are seen crying. Isn't it ridiculous to entrust our lives to this?"

He criticized the media's handling of such issues, saying, "These things should not be broadcast live. Do you think Kim Jong Un in the North wouldn't enjoy watching this?"

Na Hoon-a will continue his farewell concert series until Monday.
