SEOUL January 27 (Yonhap) -- While “The Point Men” featuring actor Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin is on the unbreakable lead, various foreign movies are hoping on the competitions.
According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Friday, “The Point Men” which premiered on January 18 has been on top of the South Korean box office for the past 10 days. It has accumulated over 1.23 million audiences with 18.8 percent sales rate.
“The Point Men” depicts a story of South Korean negotiator and diplomat acted by Hwang Jung-min and National Intelligence Service agent acted by Huyn Bin doing their best to save the South Korean hostages kept by the Taliban.
Foreign movies “Someday or one day” and “M3gen” which premiered on January 25 has charted at 4th and 5th within the South Korean box office. “Someday or one day” which is a fantasy romance movie started its marketing campaign by hosting a press conference of participating actors in South Korea and meet and greet with their fans.
Bloom House Porduction which is known for their horror film production released their latest movie “M3gan” to attract South Koreans who are in to horror movies.
“The First Slam Dunk” which originates from the comic released in 1990s “Slam Dunk” has successfully charted at second within South Korean box office alongside “Avatar: The Way of Water” which is ranked 3rd on the list with its recent success of surpassing 10 million audiences.
