'There is an Idol in My Living Room,' starring Pentagon's Yeo One, to air on Oct. 30

SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Yonhap) -- King Sejong Institute (Chairman Lee Hae-young) announced on Tuesday that it will air a web series starring idol group Pentagon's Yeo One to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its foundation.

Since interest in Korean language and culture is increasing globally thanks to the Hallyu craze, King Sejong has produced a drama starring Hallyu stars to effectively promote its institution.

"There is an Idol in My Living Room" (Literal translation), (Director Seo Kyung-guk) tells the story of a straight-A student "Joy" at the King Sejong Institute and Hallyu idol "Yeo One" who start living in the same house.

"Yeon One" is the lead vocalist of the Pentagon and has also been actively working as an actor,starring in numerous web series as lead character.

The first episode of the drama will be uploaded on the foundation's official YouTube Channel "King Sejong Institute Foundation" on Oct. 30.

Episdoes will be uploaded every Wed. and Sun. for 10 episodes until Nov. 30.

The drama deals with topics on "Some" and "dating," which people of MZ generation (1980-2000 births) can relate, to help foreign students to be interested in Korean culture.

Various Korean cultures are introduced throughout the episodes, such as tourist attractions of Seoul in the background and Original Sound Track (OST) composed of K-pop songs.

Subtitles will be available in 10 languages, including English, French, and Spanish for those who are unfamiliar with Korean.

Drama's press conference will be released on its channel on Oct. 20.

Entertainer Park Seul-gi will host, introducing web drama, showing teaser, and conducting talk show.

Actors will talk about their favorite scenes as well as behind scenes/

Chairman Lee said, "I hope more of those who are interested in Korean and Korean culture visit our institute after watching the web series."
