SEOUL, Dec. 6 (Yonhap) -- BTS's V will release a duet rendition of the classic carol White Christmas with legendary pop singer Bing Crosby (1903–1977) on Friday at 2 p.m., his agency said.
Originally released in 1942, White Christmas has become one of the most beloved holiday songs worldwide. The new duet version showcases V’s jazzy vocals harmonizing beautifully with Crosby’s timeless voice, creating a fresh take on the classic.
Crosby’s vocals were extracted from a 1950s recording of White Christmas. The production team blended his voice with V’s, adding a new instrumental arrangement to give the impression that the two singers performed together in the same studio.
Primary Wave, Crosby’s management agency, shared, “The recording captures a warm, nostalgic sound while showcasing the beloved voice of V. Both artists share baritone vocal tones, which made their collaboration feel seamless.”
V expressed his excitement and gratitude through his management, BigHit Music, saying, “I grew up listening to Crosby’s It’s Been a Long, Long Time countless times every day. Singing alongside the voice of my idol was such a joy and an honor. Crosby is my favorite jazz artist, and I poured my admiration into this performance. I hope everyone enjoys it.”
A music video featuring animated versions of Crosby and V’s pet dog Yeontan will also be released alongside the duet.
