SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Yonhap) -- Convenience store CU announced on Thursday that Korean national football team captain Son Heung-min has become the new face.
CU plans to host promotions for fans to pray for the team's good fight at Qatar World.
Event of cheering Son and the team with comments will take place at their membership application pocket CU and social account until Nov.22.
Winners will be invited to CGV theaters in Seoul, Gwangji, and Busan to cheer the match with Ghana on Nov. 28.
CU will also sponsor youth soccer academy in which Son's father runs for the future of soccer, and hold tour event of Son's team, Tottenham Hospur F.C.
Seven winners chosen through pocket CU stamp promotion will be provided accommodations and flights to watch Tottenham match.
Son will also be a new model for CU's missing child and child abuse prevention campaign.
