SEOUL, May 14 (Yonhap) -- Actors Lee Sun-bin and Kang Tae-oh will lead in tvN's new romantic series 'Potato Research Institute,' scheduled to air in the first half of next year, CJ ENM announced on the 14th.
The show, tentatively titled 'Potato Research Institute' in English, is a romantic comedy set in a rural potato research institute, depicting the love story between two opposite-gender characters.
Lee Sun-bin plays Kim Mi-kyung, a 12-year veteran researcher of straightforward personality, obsessed with studying potatoes.
Kang Tae-oh, who was discharged from the military in March this year, makes his comeback with this project. He portrays So Baek-ho, who suddenly appears at the potato research institute one day.
Director Kang Il-soo, who previously collaborated with Kang Tae-oh on 'Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung' (2019) and 'Solomon's Perjury' (2016), will be in charge of directing, while writer Kim Ho-soo will handle the screenplay.
