SEOUL, July 18 (Yonhap) -- KBS 2TV idol audition program 'Make Mate One (MA1)' has confirmed the seven members who will debut as a boy group after a series of competitions.

The 'MA1' production team announced on the 18th that Bingpan, Lin, Miraku, Jang Hyun-jun, Noh Ki-hyun, Jeon Jun-pyo, and Han Yoo-seop were selected as the new boy group members during the final live broadcast on the 17th. These members are set to debut in January next year.

Bingpan, who secured the first place in the final episode, expressed his gratitude by saying, "So many people have supported us," and exclaimed, "Let's head towards a beautiful future."

During the broadcast, original songs by 'MA1' participants, 'Higher Wire' and 'Make it Bounce,' were unveiled. Both songs were released at noon on the 18th.

'MA1' is a boy group survival audition program jointly produced by KBS and entertainment agency Makestar. It featured 36 contestants without affiliations competing for spots in the new boy group.

Although it was KBS's first idol group audition program in over six years since 'Idol Rebooting Project: The Unit' (2017-2018), it faced criticism for lacking distinction from other audition programs, achieving a peak viewership rating of just 0.6%.
