SEOUL, Oct. 19 (Yonhap) -- Place to understand Africa through various culture contents such as movie and music will be arranged.
The Korea-Africa Foundation announced on Wednesday that Africa Film Festival 2022 will take place starting Thursday until Nov. 2.
The agenda of the film festival is "2030 BUSAN World Expo" Navigating toward a better future," for the successful bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.
Showing movies include Aloevera from Ghana, Happiness Ever After from South Africa, Aida from Morocco, O Grande Kilapy from Angola, Once Upon a Time in Uganda from Uganda. Once Upon a Time in Uganda), Egyptian DJ Sawah from Egypt, The Painting from Zambia, Shikamoo Mzee from Tanzania and Noura's Dream from Tunisia.
These movies are suggested by African Governance Architecture (AGA), and they can be watched free at CGV Cheongdam Cinecity, Busan Cinema Center, and through the foundation's NaverTV.
This film festival will also hold other additional events such as "Africa Talk Talk with Movie experts" and "Music Cafe next to Theater #Ep.2" (both translated).
Africa Talk Talk will be taking place in the form of Talk concert with movie reporter Lee Hwan-jung and Journalist Lee Eun-sun
Music Cafe next to Theater, which is held for the second time following last year, will be hosted by singer and cultural planner Harim.
Singer-songwriter Jang Deulre, jazz Band O Hymn Trio, guitarist Kim Myoung-seok will appear to talk about African movies and musics.
Africa Talk Talk will occur at 3-3 p.m. on Oct.21 at Busan Cinema Center Cinema II while Music cafe takes place at 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Cinema II.
Chairman Yeo Un-gi said, "We show various African movies, which are hard for Koreans to come by, through film festival every year," adding, "We hope this becomes an opportunity to understand and raise awareness about Africa."
The foundation has been introducing Africa through sculptural contents which are easy for Koreans to approach, such as Africa Week, which takes place every May, and competitions.
