SEOUL, Sept. 05 (Yonhap) -- S.Korean comedy movie "6/45," starring Go Kyung-pyo and Lee Yi-kyung, has topped S.Korean weekend box office, followed by the espionage film "Hunt," the directorial debut of "Squid Game" star Lee Jung-jae.
The movie drew 406,000 people during the last weekend (Sept.2- Sept.4), bringing its combined total to 1.13 million as of the previous day, according to the data by the Korea Film Council.
The movie surpassed total audience of 1 million on Sept. 4, 12 days after its released.
"6/45" is a B-class movie with only 5 billion won production cost and break-even point 165,000 audiences, but it has been staying atop for eight consecutive days after it first topped the daily box office on the fifth day of its release.
Movie Hunt, which had been maintaining the top position on the weekend box office for three consecutive weeks, garnered 203,000 people, stepping down to the second place.
Yi Sun-sin's movie "Hansan : Rising Dragon" and American action film "Top Gun: Maverick" each attracted 76,000, and 54,000 audiences, ranking No.3 and No.4 respectively.
Movie "Limit" starring Jin Seo-yeon, Lee Jung-hyun garnered 27,000 people while Watcha's original drama "Semantic Error" attracted 9,000, marking 5th and 9th places respectively.
