SEOUL, July 15 (Yonhap) -- “I have so many things I want to try—bright songs, sexy performances—and I’ve put all those different colors into this album,” said ASTRO’s Yoon San-ha, ahead of the release of his second solo mini-album “CHAMELEON.”

In a recent interview at a cafe in Gangnam District, Seoul, Yoon said, “Like a chameleon changing its skin, each track in the album has a unique color. I want to show that I can adapt to and perform any style of music.”

Set to be released at 6 p.m. on Monday, “CHAMELEON” includes five tracks, including the title song “EXTRA VIRGIN,” which blends a country-style chord progression with hip-hop rhythms. Other songs include “Bad Mosquito,” which sensually captures the tension between two people, and the fan song “Love you like fools,” an R&B-pop number featuring warm synth sounds.

Yoon said he chose “EXTRA VIRGIN” because it fit the summer vibe and allowed him to explore the hip-hop genre. “I wanted to do it while I’m still young enough to embody a ‘hip-hop rascal’ kind of image,” he explained.

He also participated in writing the lyrics for “Love you like fools,” which he completed in just two hours while thinking of his fans. “It expresses gratitude to those who have been with me and conveys a message of unconditional, foolish love,” he said.

Now in his 10th year since debuting as the youngest member of ASTRO in 2016, Yoon says he still has many sides yet to show. He will also appear in the KBS drama “My Girlfriend is a Tough Guy,” which premieres on July 23.

“I think I’m still in the process of discovering my own color,” Yoon said. “Whether it’s acting or music, I want to keep showing different sides of myself under the name Yoon San-ha.”

Yoon cited fellow ASTRO member Cha Eun-woo—who is active both as a singer and actor—as a role model and benchmark. “Even though he has even less time than I do, he still prepares albums and acts. It makes me think I need to work even harder.”

He added, “Eun-woo told me, ‘It would be great if you could catch up while I’m in the military,’ and I said, ‘Wait for me—I’ll be right behind you.’ I plan to keep promoting myself to catch up with him.”

Yoon expressed a desire to be remembered by fans and hopes to earn the title “Trustworthy Voice” with his current promotions. “I want people to feel that I’m someone who truly knows how to express emotions through music.”
