SEOUL August, 19 (Yonhap) -- “According to the character setting given by the writer, such as how his nickname has been ‘Trickery Kown Min-woo’ he is filled with ambition. Probably the most realistic character within the drama.”;

Throughout broadcasting service ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” S.Korean actor Joo Jong-hyuk acted out protagonist Woo’s provoking colleague lawyer Kwon Min-woo and received a lot of unique nicknames such as “Suggested Resignation” “Didactic” and more.

“I knew my character was going to get hate by some people, but I didn’t know my character would be hated by the entire population of S.Korea. However I am still very happy despite the fact that my character is getting bashed on.” Joo Jong-hyuk who attended an interview held at the Yonhap News building on August 18, described his character and how he felt about people’s reactions

Character Kwon Mi-woo, who tries to put his autistic colleague Woo Young-woo, acted by actress Park Eun-bin, in a troublesome situation to get her kicked out of the company.

Towards the beginning of the drama Kwon Min-woo was considered to be the only one who treated protagonist Woo Young-woo as a lawyer instead of a person in need of help. Therefore he received a lot of positive reviews for it, however actor Joo Jong-hyuk described the situation as something he didn’t expect to happen.
“Knowing that character Kwon Min-woo is not the character to be receiving positive feedback I was surprised.” adding “Since the drama is loved by vast amount of people, there are various different interpretation of the story.” described actor Joo Jong-hyuk throughout his interview at Yonhap News.

In order to act out Kwon Min-woo, actor Joo Jong-hyuk took time to learn and study about composer Salieri Antonio, who was known for having sense of inferiority against considerably one of the greatest composers known to people, Mozart.

“In my perspective the way Kwon Min-woo felt about protagonist Woo Young-woo would have been the same how Salieri Antonio felt about Mozart.” adding “I tried to put myself in a position of Salieri Antonio, who felt the gap between himself and Mozart who is considered as genius which cannot be caught up to until Mozart died.” announced Joo Jong-hyuk throughout the interview.

Continuing on, “I tried very hard to portray Kown Min-woo as someone that people might be able to run across throughout their lives.” Joo Jong-hyuk described about his intention and how he acted out his character.

Throughout the drama Kwon Min-woo showcases, contradicting sides such as how he claims to be the weak compare to protagonist Woo Young-woo, and subject to discrimination however he keeps his mouth shut towards the irregularities performed by the establishment.

Although he is portrayed as a character who can live with injustice situations but can’t live with disadvantages throughout the drama, towards the end the show reviles a background story of Known Min-woo who not only lives with his ill father but he is the head of household. This lead a lot of people to feel sympathetic towards the character.

“I think Kwon Min-woo is liked by my parents and that is about it. A lot of people called me up and asked ‘why do you live like that?’ since I am getting bashed severely a lot of people are actually worried about my well being, however I am doing very well, I like the attention its giving me.” Joo Jong-hyuk chucked while describing his current situation.
