SEOUL, April 23 (Yonhap) -- Actor Park Jung-min has donated an audiobook version of the novel First Summer, Wanju to the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities in celebration of World Book Day, his publishing company Mooje said Wednesday.

The novel, written by author Kim Geum-hee and published by Mooje, tells the story of Son Yeol-mae, who is swindled by her close friend Go Soo-mi. In an attempt to recover her money, Yeol-mae travels to Soo-mi's hometown, where the story unfolds.

The audiobook marks the first release of Mooje’s “Listening Novel Project” and, unlike traditional publications, will be released as an audiobook at the end of this month ahead of the print edition, which is scheduled for publication in May. Earlier this month, copies of the audiobook were also donated to the National Library for Persons with Disabilities.

A number of actors participated in the voice recording, including Go Min-si, Kim Do-hoon, Yum Jung-ah, Choi Yang-rak, Kim Eui-sung, Park Joon-myeon, Bae Sung-woo, and Ryu Hyun-kyung.

The donated audiobooks will be distributed to approximately 40 libraries for the disabled across the country through the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities.
