SEOUL, Aug. 31 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group Mamamoo's Wheein, who did not renew her contract with previous agency RBW, has joined singer Ravi's new label, THE L1VE.

THE L1VE officially announced Tuesday on social media that Wheein will join its label.

Debuting as Mamamoo in 2014, Wheein is known for her unique tone of voice. With Mamamoo celebrating its seventh debut anniversary this year, Wheein decided not to renew her contract with RBW in June.

However, RBW stated that Wheein will still actively continue team activities as a member of Mamamoo.

THE L1VE, is a new label established by boy group VIXX's member Ravi to support artists from various genres including hip-hop and R&B as well as to work on music together.

Singer Ailee was the first artist to be recruited, followed by Mamamoo's Wheein.
