SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Yonhap) -- K-pop boy group Big Ocean has been invited to perform at the "AI for Good Global Summit" in Switzerland next year, their agency said on Wednesday.

Set to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, in July, the summit is a prominent AI event with participation from over 40 United Nations agencies. The event is organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

Since its launch in 2017, the summit has aimed to leverage AI technology to help achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to connect AI innovators with leaders from public and private sectors to spread AI solutions worldwide.

Parastar explained, "Big Ocean uses SVC (Singing Voice Conversion), an AI voice technology, in their music production. Amid concerns about AI voice misuse, such as in voice phishing or deepfakes, Big Ocean was recognized as a positive example of AI voice application."

The agency added that the organizers viewed Big Ocean, a three-member act with hearing impairment, as a successful case of overcoming hearing limitations through AI.

Big Ocean is set to release their first mini-album, "Follow," on the 12th.

The album's lead track, "Flow," carries a message of finding happiness through music.
