SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) — K-pop girl group Meovv released its new digital single “Burning Up” at 6 p.m. Tuesday, The Black Label said.
The new track comes about five months after the group’s first mini album “My Eyes Open Wvide,” which was released in May.
Member Narin described the song as “an explosion,” saying, “It feels like all our passion and emotions erupting at once — it’s fiery and powerful. From the moment I first heard it, I knew ‘Burning Up’ had a completely different energy from anything we’ve done before.”
She added, “We cried, laughed, and shared stories together while preparing for this song. Through ‘Burning Up,’ we hope to convey our genuine feelings to our fans and the public.”
Member Gawon said, “‘Burning Up’ is the essence of blazing energy. I first heard all the tracks from our debut mini album when we were still trainees, but this song came to us after debut — and hearing it as Meovv made me feel a much stronger sense of certainty about it.”
Both Gawon and Narin took part in writing the lyrics for the track.
“This time, we wanted to show a wilder, freer side of Meovv,” Narin said. “Until now, we’ve focused on delivering perfectly polished performances, but through ‘Burning Up,’ we wanted to express our raw passion just as we feel it.”
