SEOUL January 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean comedy crime solving drama series “Brain Works” started off its journey with over 5 percent viewing rate.
Nielsen Television audience measurement agency addressed KBS 2TV drama “Brain Works” which aired on January 2 at 9:50 p.m. achieved 5.2 percent viewing rate.
Throughout the first episode of the series, “Brain Works” showcased the tragic entanglement of the lives of neuroscientist Shin Ha-ru acted by CNBLUE’s Jung Yong-hwa and detective Geum Myung-se acted by Cha Tae-hyun.
Neuroscientist Shin Ha-run plans to forge a signature of Kang Sung-ah acted by Kim Gang-il to study the brain of a psychopath.
Coincidently Geum Myung-se walks in to the lab to get a thumb print, he gets his hair cut by the assistant while doing Shin Ha-ru a favor.
Geum Myung-se who felt extremely depressed due to his hair drinks with his journalist friend. Throughout his encounter with his friend, Geum Myung-se talks about how the signature on Kang Sung-ha’s brain donation document has been forged. Later on Geum Myung-se’s friend writes an article about it making it public, and as a result Shin Ha-ru gets kicked out of the lab.
“Brain Works” provides various fun through characters with unique brain structures.
Protagonist Shin Ha-ru with self loving and narcissistic brain and Geum Myung-se with altruistic brain showcases unique profound characteristics confronts one another.
Moreover the series, showcased flavorful scenes by introducing characters such as Kim Mo-ran acted by Ye Ji-won who is addicted adultery, and Sul So-jung acted by Kwak Sun-young.
Although the series recently kicked off its journey a lot of positive reviews have been given by the fact that “Brain Works” managed to incorporate such heavy subject matter of neuroscience with whimsical lines and comedic scenes.
Actor Cha Tae-hyun acted out Geum Myung-se who got his hair shaved unintentionally perfectly showcasing his frustration, sadness and more and actress Ye Ji-won provided laughter to audience with her unique acting.
