SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Yonhap) -- Rose, a member of the K-pop group BLACKPINK, won Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards for "APT.," her collaboration single with Bruno Mars.
The VMAs are among the best-known pop music awards in the United States. It is the first time a K-pop artist has been honored in the category.
Rose, who was nominated in eight categories at this year's VMAs, is also vying for major honors including Video of the Year and Best Pop.
The Best K-Pop award, for which Rose was also nominated, went to her fellow BLACKPINK member Lisa for "Born Again," a collaboration with Doja Cat and Raye. It was her second consecutive win and third overall in the category.
