SEOUL, Sep. 16 (Yonhap) -- Girl band BLACKPINK’s two hit songs have surpassed 500 million streaming in Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform.
The band’s “How You Like That” became the first K-pop girl-group’s song to exceed 500 million streaming in Spotify on the 12th, according to the group’s agency YG Entertainment.
The song, dropped in June, was their first pre-release track of their 1st regular album. It has reached 500 million streaming in 1 year and 3 months.
“Kill This Love,” released in April 2019 has stood over 500 million streaming as well on the 15th.
“The bands another hit song “DDU-DU DDU-DU” is about to reach 500 million streaming in Spotify as well, so the record is to continue renewal,” said the agency.
BLACKPINK has been continually setting records of rapid increase in SNS subscribers and streaming times with their member Lisa’s solo debut.
After Lisa’s solo single released on the 10th, BLACKPINK’s official Spotify account followers and YouTube channel subscribers increased by about 1.2 million and 1.6 million, respectively. The band carries the world’s most YouTube subscribers of 66.5 million people.
