SEOUL, January 4 (Yonhap) -- Musical "Mamma Mia!" will meet its Korean audience after three years.
"Mamma Mia!" will be on stage at the Chungmu Arts Center, in Jung-gu Seoul starting from March 24 until June 25, according to Seensee company on Wednesday.
"Mamma Mia!" which was premiered in London, United Kingdom is a Jukebox musical produced with hit songs of a global pop group ABBA.
It is a steady-selling musical watched by 65 million people in 450 cities around the world, depicting the friendship and love of mother Donna and daughter Sophie against the backdrop of a beautiful Greek resort.
It was first performed in Korea in 2004 and set a record of more than 2 million viewers in the shortest period.
The musical will be on stage after three years since the 2020 Seoul encore performance was canceled due to COVID-19.
Original members Choi Jung-won and Shin Young-sook will play Donna and Kim Jung-min will play Sam, while Lee Hyun-woo will play Harry. Kim Hwan-hee and Choi Tae-yi took the role of Sophie selected through an audition, and Kim Jin-soo and Song Il-guk will appear as Bill, one of Donna's ex-lover.
Hong Ji-min, Kim Young-joo, Park Jun-myeon and Kim Kyung-sun will play Donna's humorous friends Tanya and Rosie, respectively, while Jang Hyun-sung and Min Young-ki will newly join as Sam and Harry, respectively.
