BTS’s 4th album returns to Billboard’s main album chart

SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Yonhap) -- The 4th studio album released by group BTS 2 years ago, returned to the U.S Billboard main album chart.

BTS’s 4th studio album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” returned to the main album chart, Billboard 200, and ranked No. 184, according to Billboard’s latest chart, Tuesday (local time).

The chart ranks albums by the sum of the physical sales figures and the number of streaming and downloads converted into sales figures.

Just after its release in Feb. 2020, the album “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” topped the Billboard 200 and stayed on the chart for over 82 weeks. It has been 2 years, but the album has put up its name on the chart for a total of 95 weeks.

The album recently ranked No. 33 and No. 2 on the Top Album Sales and World Album charts, respectively.

The album “BE” released in Nov. 2020, ranked No. 61 on the Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 6 on the World Album chart.

BTS is also steadily performing on the Billboard Global Chart, which ranks the top song from more than 200 territories around the world.

“My Universe,” the joint song with band Coldplay, ranked No. 17 on the Billboard Global (excl. U.S) and stayed on the chart for 19 consecutive weeks.

The superband filled the global chart with a total of four songs, including No. 25 with “Butter,” No. 36 with “Dynamite,” and No. 80 with “Permission to Dance.”

On the Billboard Global 200 chart, the group ranked No. 26 with "My Universe," No. 42 with "Butter," No.50 with "Dynamite," No. 118 with "Permission to Dance.”
