SEOUL, Dec. 22 (Yonhap) —Director Bong Joon-ho's movie "Parasite" made it into "The 100 Greatest Movies of All Time," selected by U.S. Variety, a premier source of entertainment news.

Variety ranked "Parasite" 82nd on "The 100 Greatest Movies of All Time," which was released on December 21.

The medium introduced "Parasite" as a thriller with sharp intention, which is universally appealing, and a piece that became a "tipping point" in the academy award's history.

"Parasite" won the "Academy Awards for Best Picture" in the 2020 92nd Academy Awards for the first time as a non-English piece, winning three more awards, including directing, best original screenplay, and international feature film.

The movie "Psycho" (1960), produced by Alfred Hitchcock, one of the best suspense thriller directors, was proudly ranked first.

Following, "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), directed by Victor Fleming, was ranked second, and "The Godfather" (1972) by director Francis Ford Coppola was ranked third.

Director Orson Welles' masterpieces "Citizen Kane" (1941) and "Pulp Fiction" (1994), directed by Quentin Tarantino, ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
