SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) -- Pop star Bruno Mars has achieved his first-ever win on a Korean music program with the song APT., a collaboration with BLACKPINK's Rose.
On the 25th, the music industry reported that APT., performed by Mars and Rose, took the top spot on Mnet's music program M Countdown the previous day. It is a rare feat for a global pop star to top a domestic Korean music show, demonstrating the immense popularity of APT. in Korea.
Mars expressed his gratitude on social media: "To all the Korean fans, thank you so much!! I cried this morning after getting my first music show win. Thank you to Rose for helping me achieve this, and thank you all for showing so much love to ‘APT.’ Love, Bruno Oppa."
He also thanked Rose, affectionately calling her "Rosie," for helping make the win possible and for the overwhelming love the song has received.
Rose congratulated Mars on her own social media, posting, "Congratulations. U made it," sharing the news of his Korean music show victory.
With the global success of APT., the song is expected to break into the upper ranks of the two major global charts: the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100.
