SEOUL October 26 (Yonhap) -- “Since I have taken great amount of time preparing for the upcoming album, I have given greater thought, and effort into it. As far as the album goes, I am very satisfied and I enjoy listening to it.”
South Korean singer songwriter Roy Kim seemed very nervous throughout the press conference held on October 25, however his pride on the final product he created seemed very firm.
The fourth full length album “, AND” is his first musical released since the last single released by the artist in 2020, as of the full length album it has been 7 years since he released his third album “The Big Dipper.”
“This album contains ups and downs every human being feel.” addressed Roy Kim during the press conference.
Starting with the title track “It’ll be Alright,” followed by “Take Me Back In Time” which was pre released on October 14, and seven more tracks making the album consist of 9 ballad tracks in total perfect for late fall season.
Track “It’ll Be Alright” portrays the void and emptiness by showcasing lyrics such as “However much I scream, lean on places that matters nothing to me, on my way back home all its left is my loneliness.”
“I feel like when someone asks how I was doing, I was never in a state where I find myself confident to reply saying I am doing great.” recollected singer Roy Kim throughout the press conference.
Moreover, the artist stated “Song includes my thought towards not wanting more and actually appreciating what I have around myself, and my intention of giving warmth to those around me.”
Pre released track “Take Me Back In Time” is a final track from three part series along with tracks “The Hardest Part,” and “Only Then” released in 2018. Artist sings about the aftermath of the break up and the process of becoming mature.
“I put a lot of thought into this moment because this is my first appearance after a long period of absence.” adding “Since this song withholds my understanding of life. Therefore I decided to release the track before the actual release of the album” addressed artist Roy Kim.
Roy Kim rose to stardom as he won the first prize at the audition program “Super Star K4” by the South Korean broadcasting service Mnet in 2012. Later on that year on April, he debuted by releasing his well known single “Spring Spring Spring.”
After his debut in 2012, he released hits such as “Love Love Love,” “Home,” “The Big Dipper” and more, also his looks and solid vocal allowed him to settle down as one of leading ballad singers of South Korea.
However, in 2019 South Korean singer Jung Joon-young’s chat room scandal broke out, and Roy Kim who was one of Jung Joon-young’s friend was brought in for questioning. Roy Kim was freed after he was deferred prosecution in 2020.
