SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) -- The cast of the upcoming Netflix Korean-language series “Severe Trauma Center” (literal title) has been confirmed and unveiled.
Set in the Center for Severe Trauma of a university hospital suffering from deficits, the series will revolve around a genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk, who is appointed as the chief surgeon of the Center.
This medical series is adapted from the web novel “Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour,” written by otolaryngologist-cum-writer Hansan-iga.
Ju Ji-hoon has been slated to play the main lead, the genius doctor Baek Kang-hyuk. Meanwhile, Choo Young-woo, who made himself known by starring in the television series “School 2021” (2021 - 2022) and “Oasis” (2023), will play Yang Jae-won, Baek’s very first pupil.
Yoon Kyung-ho will co-star as Han Yu-rim, an anal surgery professor who lost his pupil Yang Jae-won to Baek. In the meantime, Ha-young, who co-starred in the television series “Mouse” (2021) and “Now, We Are Breaking Up” (2021), will play Cheon Jang-mi, a responsible nurse at the Center.
Jung Jae-kyung, who formerly played the youngest police officer Kim Sang-hoon in the hit movie “The Roundup” (2022), will suit up as Park Kyung-won, a resident physician who does all the dirty work ahead of his specialist exam.
Director Lee Do-yoon, who has credits for delivering the movie “Good Friends” (2014) also starring Ju Ji-hoon, will take the helm. The series will be based on the script written by Choi Tae-gang, who wrote the television series “Adamas” (2022).
The official release date of "Severe Trauma Center" is yet to be announced.
