SEOUL, Nov. 28 (Yonhap) -- "It is true that we have differences even musically with permanent conductor. My biggest responsibility as concert master is making communication between conductor and members easier."

On Sunday, a day before the German orchestra Staatskapelle Berlin's first concert in Korea, this orchestra's Korean concert master, violinist Lee Jiyoon met with Korean press ahead of open rehearsal that took place at Bucheon Art center and said, "Concert master is a diplomat between conductor and members."

For the perfect performance with conductor Christian Thielemann, who take the position of Daniel Barenboim, in this concert, Lee, as the concert master, focused on smooth communication between members and Thielemann.

World-class conductor and pianist Barenboim has been leading his orchestra as the artistic director for the last 30 years since 1992. But before the concert in Korea, he announced a moratorium due to ill health, and his position was urgently replaced by Thieleman. Known as the traditional conductor of German music, Thielemann was the chief conductor of Munich Philharmonic and is currently currently chief conductor of the Staatskapelle Dresden.

After being selected as the first Asian and first woman concert master in Staatskapelle Berlin, a historic orchestra with 450 years of history, and has been leading members since then, Lee Jiyoon emphasized her heavy responsibility as the concert master.

"There is this thing that whatever happens at any stage, it is the responsibility of the concertmaster. My actions become more cautious since I represent the orchestra even outside the stage. I always think that concert master is the face of the orchestra."

Staatskapelle Berlin, in which Thieleman took the baton, will perform all four symphony of J.Brahms overt two days. They will perfrom No.1 and No.2 at Lotte Concert hall on Monday, and No.3 and No.4 at Seoul Arts Center on Wednesday.

Thielemann and Lee Jiyoon showed confidence about their harmony for this concert at open rehearsal. Thielemann, taking over Barenboim, was praised for performing "Der Ring des Nibelungen" by Richard Wagner with the orchestra beginning of last month .

"Staatskapelle Berlin and I have already performed Wagner and Bruckner excellently. Conductor should never talk too much. We have to show what we want through stage. Staatskapelle Berlin and I have definitely have chemical actions." (Thieleman)

Lee Jiyoon also said, "We have been working with Thielemann for the entire month," adding, "Performing Brahms is our first time, but we work well together than I expected, and all the members are having so much fun."
