SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- WOODZs’ “Drowning” was the most-sung track at karaoke rooms this year.

TJ Media said on Friday that “Drowning” ranked No. 1 in its tally of the most-played songs on TJ karaoke machines between Jan. 1 and Dec. 7.

The company noted that songs by male solo artists have topped the annual karaoke charts for five consecutive years. Last year’s No. 1 was Lee Chang-sub’s “Heavenly Fate,” while Park Jae-jung’s “Let’s Say Goodbye” led the chart in 2023.

Ballads also dominated this year’s ranking, with Hwang Garam’s “I Am a Firefly” following WOODZs at No. 2 and ChoZZ’s “Do You Not Know?” at No. 3. Lee Chang-sub’s “Heavenly Fate,” last year’s top song, placed fourth.

Hits from the 2000s also proved their staying power, with Buzz’s “My Love(And)” and “Thorn” ranking fifth and eighth, and EZ’s “Emergency Room” sixth.

“Golden,” from the soundtrack of the Netflix animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” came in at ninth.

Byun Jin-sub’s 1989 release “To a Lady” shot to No. 40, climbing 829 spots year-on-year after being featured on KBS’ “Gag Concert.”

Among songs newly added to karaoke this year, ChoZZ’s “Do You Not Know?” ranked first, followed by MAKTUB’s “Child of Beginning.”

The “K-Pop Demon Hunters” soundtrack also performed strongly, with “Golden” at No. 3 and “Soda Pop” at No. 10.
