From member of NU'EST to solo artist, Baekho drops first solo album 'Absolute Zero'

SEOUL October 12 (Yonhap) -- “Throughout the production of our latest album I have learned that I am more of a romanticist than I have imagined,” adding “I have found out that I am in capable of producing such a sound.”

Member Baekho from K-pop boy group NU’EST who recently kicked off his solo career participated in a joint interview along news media on Wednesday addressed his musical muse to be the night sea.

Artist Baekho, who is from Jeju Island addressed, “My solo album is a product of purely focusing on myself without any modifier and prejudice just like the calm ocean at night” about his first solo album in 10 years.

Moreover, singer stated “I have learned a lot about myself while creating this album.”

Baekho who debuted as a main vocal of the K-pop boy group NU’EST in 2012 attracted a lot of fans with his powerful vocal and built physique. Contract of the boy group NU’EST and their agency Pledis Entertainment has been terminated in March, both Baekho and Min-hyun decided to stay with the entertainment. After Baekho decided to stay with the Pledis Entertainment he mainly worked on his first solo album.

“When working on my solo album I really hoped all 5 of the members of NU’EST will be at a greater place with greater achievements in the future.” addressed Baekho during the interview.

Continuing on Baekho stated “I was nervous to release my album, but at the same time I was very excited” adding “when working on my album I had bigger ambition but when I saw the final product my ambition has dissolved.”

Artist has named his first solo album “Absolute Zero.” Absolute Zero which is the lowest limit of the thermodynamics where the fundamental particles of nature has minimum vibrational motion, by using so the artist showcases his wish and will to restart from the clean slate as a solo artist.

Following the title track “No Rules,” “Festival in my car,” Love Burn,” ‘We Don’t care no more” featuring Korean band Glen Check and in total of 6 tracks are included within the solo album and Baekho participated in writing the lyrics and production of most of the tracks.

“Since I have to fill up three to four minutes of the track solely with my own voice I had a lot of thoughts going through my mind.” adding “This time put the focus on who I am.” announced Baekho.

The answer he ended up on was simplicity and peacefulness. He tried to exclude hitting the high notes and screaming like he did back when he was active as the main vocal of K-pop boy group NU’EST.

“I hope my fans will enjoy exploring my album by looking in the details, also I wanted to create something approachable for those who are just now encountering who I am. My goal is to create music which will be easy for everyone to list to” artist emphasized.

When asked of the biggest turning point within 10 years of his music career, Baekho addressed “I think the biggest turning point of my life, would be the time I moved to Seoul after being casted by the Pledis Entertainment and the moment I debuted.” adding “The past 10 years to me is very precious, it wasn’t always sunny but I am not going to deny any of the moments.”
